What does the successful high tech entrepreneur look like?
(by Kenneth Morse, 3com)
- Integrity
- Leadership
- Impatient; bias toward action (with analysis)
- Quick clockspeed
- Modest ego. Seeks and accepts coaching. Recognizes, and hires to overcome weaknesses.
- Willing to be different, but knows it (not oblivious)
- Pragmatic; willing to compromise (in order to move forward)
- Rejoices in others' victories (no petty jealousy)
- Driven to solve a valuable problem for customers (not driven by money or technology)
- Able to attract world class talent
The way a value proposition should be
Compelling
Quantifiable
Proveable
Referenciable
Easy explainable
Validate first the value proposition with the customer, then visit venture capitalists.
Business basics
- Teamwork creates value and success. Lone wolves build perpetually smal companies
- CEO should love customers and be the #1 sales person in the company. Customers need to feel they have a relationship with your firm before they buy from you.
- Risk is higher when you are growing
- CFIMITHYM (Cash flow is more important than your mother)
- Don't be embarrased to mae money
- Fiest funding comes from FFF (friends, family and fools).
